Out and About
You will find that there is never a shortage of great things to do in the Costa Del Sol. With beaches within easy reach you can try water skiing, jet biking, sailing and windsurfing. There is a diving school at Torreblanca, horse riding at Fuengiroal, bowling at nearby Miraflores, and a casino at Benalmadena. The Costa Del Sol is also well known as the "Golfers Paradise" with over 35 courses within easy reach by car.
Golf
The Costa del Sol receives over three hundred days of sunshine each year which has helped to become one of the top golf holiday destinations in Europe.
From our apartment in Calahonda you very are well placed for a great golf holiday. There is a complete variety of golf courses ranging from wide easy fairways to more technically demanding golf courses.
Between 1985 and 1991, no fewer than 17 new golf courses appeared, bringing the total along this 50 mile stretch of coast up to around thirty five. With so many courses the Costa del Sol is now regarded as a "Golfers Paradise" and all these courses are accessible by car.
Of course, the climate and the long hours of sunshine provide a perfect opportunity in which to practise the sport and each year the clubs and courses are visited by an ever increasing number of enthusiasts and professionals. And you don't have to stray to far either. The La Siesta course for example is close to the residential area of Calahonda. It is a fairly short course although the levels vary substantially from tee to green.
